School Notes

  • Corpus Christi-Holy Rosary School (CCHR) is accredited by AdvancEd and serves children from grades PreK-3 through grade eight. A Universal Prekindergarten program (UPK) is available. This progrmadministered byPort Chester Public Schools in collaboration with Corpus Christi Holy Rosary School. UPK is designed to help more children begin their education at an early age and get a solid start on the road to active learning. The Port Chester Public School District and the Archdiocese`s "UPK" Program represent an excellent, high-quality Pre-K education for 4-year-olds.
  • The CCHR Kindergarten to grade eight curriculum is based on New York State Standards andThe Common Core Learning Standards ("CCLS"), a single set of clear, consistent learning expectations in English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics designed to help prepare students for college and career success.
  • Students in grades K through 5 learn in self-contained classrooms; middle school students change classrooms according to subject. Each classroom builds upon a unified, vertically integrated curriculum that fluidly integrates Common Core Curriculum standards.
  • Students use technology daily (laptops, desktops, interactive whiteboards, and iPads), to reinforce skills and master academic standards. Students in grades five through eight also use technology to fulfill the school's requirement for proficiency in a foreign language through the Rosetta Stone program.
  • In addition to the core subjects Religion, ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science students also participate in enrichment classes including: Physical Education, Art, Music, Computer Science, and Library. Students in grades six through eight are further challenged by hands-on science labs and language labs. This deeper intellectual exploration prepares students to actively participate in high school and the global community.Corpus Christi-Holy Rosary School students use and develop their gifts and talents not only in the classroom but also in after school activities such as band, glee club, choir, reading and arts programs. Students stage two annual Christmas shows and a spring Talent Show.
