The mission of Episcopal Day School is to provide a strong foundation for life-long learning in a Christian community that treasures courage, leadership and excellence.
We believe that each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual needs; that a student's self-esteem is enhanced by positive academic and social experiences combined with mutual respect amongst students and staff; that a safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning; that students should be exposed to a variety of academic and enrichment activities using instructional practices which take into account a variety of learning styles; that students need to demonstrate their understanding of essential knowledge and skills, but also need to be actively involved in solving problems and producing quality work; that a student's spiritual growth can be slowly nurtured; that student learning should be the primary focus of all decisions impacting the future of the school; and, finally, that all students can learn.
