FSCA is a premier educational leader in Cumberland County by being the first private school for students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
FSCA was founded in August, 2002 and has been successfully meeting the needs of the community for over a decade.

School Notes
FSCA serves students through a low teacher-student ratio
(1:10), direct and explicit instruction, multisensory learning
experiences, assistance with organization, and a higher rate of
individualized attention that is typically not offered in public or
larger private schools.
FSCA's programs are not watered down versions of traditional
schooling. There are no reduced expectations, but the programs
emphasize individualized instruction. Supplemental material and
unique scheduling arrangements have been carefully researched to
match a wide variety of learning styles. The materials are
presented in ways which really hit home, allowing them to grasp
concepts and increase their knowledge.
FSCA has the distinction of being the only private
school in Cumberland County that has a program specifically
dedicated to students with mild to moderate learning disabilities,
including autism. FSCA accommodates existing IEP's for students, or
will develop an IEP, if needed. Wealso are a recipient
of the Disabilities Grant and the Opportunity Scholarship those who
qualify under state guidelines.
Flaming Sword Christian Academy was a blessing for us. My twin sons attended the school from 8th grade to 12th grade and it was the best decision we made for them. At FSCA they were able to be themselves and develop their strengths. Now they are in successfully attending college. We will always be grateful to Dr. Hatmaker, Mrs. Cain, and all the staff at FSCA for taking care of the kids with so much love and dedication.

My son has attended Flaming Sword for 6 years. He has high-functioning autism. The small class size and encouraging setting have allowed him to thrive. The grouping of students by skill level creates an environment which builds confidence. This is important as my son has a substantial processing delay. The school also provides opportunities for enrichment and extracurricular activities for those interested. The school is focused on helping every student reach their full potential.

My son has attended FSCA for four years. This school and its staff have been the driving force behind his success. His teachers have always been easy to engage with and willing to take the extra time to work with us and our son when he went through a rough patch. He really enjoys school - he looks forward to his school year, and that gives me some peace of mind. I see my son's academic progress, social development and overall great attitude towards school and feel so fortunate we found Dr. Hatmaker and the amazing staff of Flaming Sword Christian Academy.

My son has attended Flaming Sword since kindergarten. He will be going into his 6th grade year 2020-2021. He has grown so much both academically and socially. He has had caring, compassionate, and attentive teachers over his years with Flaming Sword. He currently takes the culinary arts class, karate, and drum lessons for his extra-curricular activities and has found he really has a lot of talents in different areas. He has a great group of friends that understand him. The smaller classrooms have been wonderful for him to receive more one-on-one attention. He is not afraid to raise his hand and as a question. I can easily reach out to the teachers and to the principal if I need further explanation on an assignment or a grade. Grade link is the system they use for posting grades and report cards. This has made it so easy to consistently stay behind him on his grades and see what he has for HW assignments for the week.

Great school for kids with mild learning disabilities or those that need more one on one attention. Flaming Sword changed my daughter's life. This was her third school after having issues with public and another private school. They understand the issues the children face and keep open communication. They understand that testing and trying different medications take time and can change behaviors. The teachers are intelligent, kind, and patient. They not only provide a great education, but also responsibility and life skills.

My three grandsons attend Flaming Sword. The oldest who has Aspergers(mild autism) graduated with a 4.0 average. This school addressed his needs, his particular learning style, and his need for social interaction. The middle child has dyslexia and was behind in public school. Now he has completely caught up, makes honor role, and has leararned to play chess with one of the instructors. I cannot say enough good things about this school. I feel blessed that we found it. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants their child to have a top notch education.
