BunnyBears Preschool Santee

BunnyBears Philosophy We believe the early years of a child's life is the most important for growth and development; and the purpose of early education is to raise creative, thinking, loving children, who believe in themselves.
Respectful, trusting and loving relationships between teachers and children, families and school are the key elements in creating the layout for early education.
Key components in creating BunnyBears Philosophy are: -The image of a child.
We see children as capable individuals who are eager to connect with other people and have endless possibilities to learn.
Each child is an individual and we value his/hers personal achievements instead of making comparisons between one child and another, because each child is unique and special.
-Environment as third teacher. Following child's lead, we create beautiful environments where children can connect with others, explore and feel a sense of belonging.
Family pictures and novelty items create a sense of belonging.
Earthy tones, glass storage, willow baskets and well selected materials help teachers to create beautiful children for children.
Our goal is to limit plastic materials the best that we can.
-The role of teacher. Teacher is a partner at play who is asking the right questions and is actively engaged.
Childrens' observations help teacher to support the environment and guide children toward selfdiscovery through art, music, literacy and dramatic play in small and large group activities.
It also allows teachers to create meaningful, and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
We believe, the most important part of being a teacher is being able to validate children's thoughts and feelings, acknowledge their actions and accomplishments.
-Documentation. Documenting children's learning through photographs and observational notes shows children and families that we value children's ideas and appreciate their line of thought.
- Family. Families play a crucial part in our environment. They will also be children's first teacher and we value and appreciate open communication amongst families and teachers.
