Economy pushes down private-school enrollment in southwestern Michigan (The Kalamazoo Gazette)

A decade ago, about 4,450 K-12 students attended 22 private schools in Kalamazoo County. This fall that enrollment number is hovering at about 3,000, down 4 percent from last year. The number of schools also is down, to 17, with this summer's consolidation of Kalamazoo Christian West and East elementary schools.
