Franklin County Catholic school leaders hope they can find ways to stem decreasing enrollment despite a tough economy. Across the country, Catholic schools are closing as students leave the private institutions. Enrollment declined 14 percent nationally between 2000 and 2008 and 1,267 schools closed, according to the National Catholic Educational Association.
