    While some students shed tears when they lose a spelling bee, 13-year-old John Scuoler was overcome with emotion when he won. John, an eighth-grader at Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Simi Valley, hugged his parents and got teary-eyed after he won Monday’s spelling bee at Medea Creek Middle School in Oak Park.
