    Christopher Dock’s Janine Powis took the lead from St. Basil Academy’s Liz Barrett with less than a mile to go in last Friday’s District One Class AA girls’ cross country championship at Lehigh University.

    Boys soccer Academy New Church 3, Calvary Christian 1 – Blake McCurdy scored twice and Tyler Boyce and a goal and an assists as Academy New Church beat Calvary Christian 3-1 on Tuesday. ANC goalkeeper Kellen Ayers had 12 saves to get the win. ANC is now 3-4 overall and 1-3 in Friends League play.

    Golf Abington 201, Wissahickon 221 – Abington got past Wissahickon 201-221 at the par-36 Huntingdon Valley Country Club on Tuesday. Ben Cooley led Abington with a 36, while Rich Thorf scored a 38. Zach Weiss paced Wissahickon with a 39. Wissahickon evened its overall record to 4-4 and 4-2 in conference play.
