AVIS - It was a rather dreary October afternoon, not one of those warm sunny autumn days that make people remark that fall is their favorite time of the year. There were gray clouds hovering above and you could smell rain building in the air. But nothing could dampen the excitement of the day for Laurie Flanagan.
Area high school graduations scheduled (The Lock Haven Express)

Last Friday night, seniors at Walnut Street Christian School in Avis received their high school diplomas in the first of many graduation ceremonies planned in the area over the next two weeks. On Tuesday, June 9, both Bucktail Area and Central Mountain high schools will hold graduation ceremonies. Bucktail's commencement exercises begin at 5 p.m. in the high school gymnasiu.
