The U.S. Supreme Court had outlawed public school segregation, sparking hope across a divided nation that black children would finally have the same chance as white children to get an education. Nadar Renae Alizadeh, a 2008 graduate of York Comprehensive High School, has accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. The 14th annual Patchwork Tales Storytelling Festival will be March 19 to 21 at the Baxter Hood Center at York Technical College in Rock Hill. The festival includes storytelling, music and workshops for adults, teens and children.
