    It's time for the Fourth Annual Greater Reading Film Festival, presented by the Berks Arts Council. This year, three short films by high school students were selected from many submissions of indie films to be shown during the festival, which runs Thursday through Sunday.

    Star Sage and Jordan Sitzer, students at Viewpoint School in Calabasas, were winners of the 2009 National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards from the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. The students and their families traveled to Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 4 to receive their awards.

    The college counselors at Viewpoint School have helped this year's class of more than 100 graduates gain acceptance into some of the nation's top universities. Rhody Davis, director of college counseling, and counselors Stephanie Shapiro and Amanda Fitts worked as university admissions officers before joining the Calabasas private school.

    A scholar, athlete and humanitarian, Kian Torabian's breadth of experience at Viewpoint School in Calabasas has landed him a spot on the Stanford University freshman class roster. Kian is a National Merit Commended Scholar for top SAT scores, an Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor and a University of California Scholar.
