The second-ranked Notre Dame men's lacrosse team suffered a 7-3 setback to No. 13 Maryland in the first round of the NCAA Championship on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field. The 2009 Great Western Lacrosse League (GWLL) all-conference teams and individual awards were announced on Thursday and Notre Dame goalie Scott Rodgers was named the GWLL Player of the Year and Irish head coach Kevin Corrigan was tabbed as the GWLL Coach of the Year. In all, eight members of the Notre Dame men's lacrosse team were selected to the first or second all-conference squads.
