The 28 seventh- and eighth-grade students in the middle school jazz band — which has been around for 15 years this year — play melodies from the 1940s through today, including jazz, rock, swing and Latin. They often receives requests to play off campus — at black tie events, ritzy establishments and numerous fundraisers.
