The Chatham Academy just finished renovations. On Thursday, they celebrated with a building re-dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony.

Gerra J. Harmon, Ky Willis Harmon and Chisama Ku Penn-Swagerty, all of Savannah, are 2009 delegates to the Tavis Smiley Foundation Youth Leadership Institute to take place Aug. 7-11 at UCLA in Los Angeles. Penn-Swagerty will be a 10th-grader at Savannah Arts Academy. Ky Harmon is a student at Urban Christian Academy. Gerra Harmon is a senior at Johnson High School.

The seventh-grade girls from Savannah Christian and the seventh-grade boys from St. James each won the 2009 Savannah Parochial Athletic League's A Division postseason basketball tournament titles.
