While the Springfield School District’s enrollment surged this year by 362 students, private school enrollment in the city appears to have dropped slightly. The economy appears to share the blame for enrollment declines at some private schools, with parents balking at tuition rates. Patterns are hard to come by, however, since enrollment at some private schools rose.
