Notes for Prospective Students
- Founded in 1880, Brimmer and May is a coeducational day school
with a diverse student body, offering a rigorous program of
academics, athletics, arts, and extracurricular activities to
students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
Brimmer and May was
the only school in New England cited as a "Model School" for 21st
century skills by the National Association of Independent Schools.
The School is located three miles west of Boston.
May students begin studying French in pre-kindergarten and have the
option of studying Mandarin in grade 5, and Spanish in grade

work closely and cooperatively.
Upper School students are guided in
course selection, goal-setting, and college planning by their
faculty advisor and college counselor.
In addition to the
college preparatory course of study, students have the opportunity
to join the Honors program and may choose from electives in art,
theatre, music, video production, 14 AP courses, and independent
Signature Programs include a Creative Arts Diploma
Program and a Global Studies Program.
Juniors are involved in
a year-long community service program.
Upper School students
participate in Winterim, an educational travel program run by the
Brimmer and May faculty.
Students have the opportunity to travel
abroad or explore areas closer to home.
The Athletics department
offers 35 team sports to Upper and Middle School students.
The Middle School program is focused on building skills as
students take on greater independence and initiative.
