Notes for Prospective Students

Additional Documents The Highlands requires that all applicants submit a copy of their birth certificate, immunization record and all sacramental records (if the student is Catholic). All immunization records must be compliant with the Texas State Health Department. You may upload scanned copies of these documents to your online application. Request Teacher / Principal Recommendations For PreK-6th grade applicants, the Highlands requires one teacher evaluation form and a principal evaluation form.  For 7th-12th grade applicants, the Highlands requires recommendations from the current english teacher and current math or science teacher, as well as a principal evaluation form. Students applying from public schools are not required to submit the principal evaluation form. Request Transcripts Applicants must authorize and submit the transcript release form to your current school to inform them that you are applying for admission to The Highlands School.  In turn, the school will mail to The Highlands the appropriate documents. Admissions Exam All applicants for K to 12th grade must take an admissions exam. Testing for K-5th grades must be taken at the Highlands and can be scheduled with the Office of Admissions. Students applying to our middle school and high school may take an admissions exam on our campus or we also accept the ISEE test. You can register for the ISEE test on their website, www.iseetest.org using The Highlands School code: 443556.  All admissions exams administered on campus are offered on Friday mornings.  Family Interview Once all of the application materials are submitted, you will be contacted to schedule a family interview.  Students and parents must attend the interview.  Family interviews are held with our Directors of Formation.  Admissions Decisions  Admission decisions are mailed out by March 10, 2017.  Early high school acceptance decisions are mailed on February 3, 2017.  Acceptance of an admission offer is done by completion of the online enrollment by the date indicated in the acceptance letter to secure a seat at The Highlands.
