School Notes:

  • ECS features challenging academics, licensed teachers, small classes, extensive technology, and involved parents. ECS is fully accredited by the State of Indiana, the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and AdvancED (formerly the North Central Association). Our ISTEP scores consistently rank among the top 5% of all schools in the State. ECS is an “A” rated, Four-Star, “high achievement/high growth” school per the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). Woven into the fabric of our curriculum is a solid focus on helping children develop the skills, knowledge, and values that will enable them to excel in life. In addition to traditional courses, our curriculum includes Bible, phonics-based reading, Accelerated Reading, inquiry-based science, STEM, technology, music, band, art, media center/library, P.E., and Spanish. We also offer numerous extra-curricular clubs, activities, and athletics. Through our relationships with parents, pastors, and the community, ECS serves as a unifying ministry. More than 75 churches are represented in our student body and many students do not have church home (ECS has an open enrollment policy). We have a staff of 70 employees, including 50 teachers. All teachers are licensed by the State and ACSI; and all are considered “highly qualified” by IDOE. ECS was founded in 1975 and incorporated in 1990 as a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation. Our annual budget is approximately $4 million.

School Reviews

We are very happy with our school. I know my kids wouldn't be where they are if it wasn't for ECS!

We have a first and fourth grader at ECS. We love ECS. The teachers and staff do a great job teaming with the parents to ensure each child gets the best education possible. Academics at ECS are so strong. I appreciate the fact that at ECS, our children are taught thoroughly at school. As a parent we are only asked to spend time with our children at home reinforcing what has already been taught in the classroom. The extensiveness of the curriculum is so impressive. The children get all the fundamentals, do well on testing, but learn many extras as well such as Spanish, music, art, and physical education. ECS supplies a well rounded education. The biblical approach is such a blessing. Our children have developed a true depth in their Biblical knowledge and worldview. I see them draw on that knowledge as they process situations that come up in their lives. Christian character is being learned each time they step foot on the campus through the staff, teachers and their peers. ECS is filling our children with the academics, Christian character, and confidence we believe they will draw on throughout their lives. We love ECS.
