School Notes Overview:
The Ocheyedan Christian School Society was first organized in March of 1938 for the purpose of providing a summer Bible School for the children of the congregation of the Christian Reformed Church. This was done for nine years. Then in March of 1947, at the annual School Society meeting, a constitution was adopted. The school board at this time included Harry Sikma, president; George De Groot, vice president; Cornelius Runia, secretary; John Wolterstorff, treasurer; Pete Bosma and Laurence Ringling. The mission of Ocheyedan Christian School is to develop in each of God’s children a knowledge and understanding of Christ and His creation based on God’s word so that they can obediently serve God and others as they work and play. We are a fully state-accredited school with certified teachers. We offer students opportunities in curricular and co-curricular activities, helping to develop the child intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
