Balboa City School is a private school for average to bright students, 1st-12th grade who are diagnosed with learning disabilities, ADD and/or have poor academic or social skills. Balboa City School utilizes direct instruction, ability grouping in small classes and attention to individual differences. Immediate positive correction on both social and academic performance in a caring, supportive environment is effective in most instances. Our students practice researched based, student survival strategies that enable them to become independent, organized, and self-confident learners. Parents’ and therapists’ input and support are sought, as they are viewed as key players on the student’s learning team. Balboa City School's comprehensive counseling program is an integral component of our program and provides our students with consistency and support on a daily basis.
