Santa Clara senior captain Matt Long was selected in the 30th round (921 overall) by the Anaheim Angels in the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday, June 10. Fellow Bronco shortstop was also picked by the Angels in the seventh round.

A senior at Trinity High School, Gary Brauner has appeared in productions at Stage One, Clarksville Little Theatre and his short play, "Shrink" — about a teen and his therapist — was one of eight shorts by area students selected for Actors Theatre's New Voices Play Festival this month.
