St. Scholastica Academy’s Doves captured the championship Saturday at the Walker Shootout Cross Country Invitational with 48 points led by the fourth place individual finish of Angela LaBorde. Archbishop Hannan’s Lady Hawks opened district Tuesday with a 27-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-17 victory over First Baptist Christian School in front of an enthusiastic crowd in Slidell. Hannan was 8-12 at Thursday’s press time, while First Baptist entered Thursday’s play at 9-2.
