In 1986 the Montessori Country Day School began with a preschool program in Paxton, MA, and later moved to Holden, MA, in 1993. Our school has been in business for twenty-two years. The preschool program is designed for children between the ages of two years nine months and six years old. The environment is created to foster basic trust, exploration, curiosity, problem solving, and independence. Our community is a safe and nourishing environment for children to explore, make choices, solve problems and work at his or her own pace while with others or alone. Preschool students from the Montessori Country Day School consistently perform at higher levels in reading, arithmetic, geography, history and other subjects than the greater majority of students entering into 1st grade.
