St. John the Evangelist School is dedicated to the pursuit of academic excellence of children, pre-school through eighth grade, in a spiritual environment, which teaches the Catholic faith while promoting Christian values. We are a Catholic elementary parish school. We are a part of St. John the Evangelist Parish. We begin and end each school day with prayer. Our morning prayers are said all together as a school community and this is also the time we acknowledge student/faculty birthdays and make announcements. We attend First Friday Mass, Masses on Holy Days and we celebrate All Saints Day and St. Joseph’s Day. We also have our students participate in a Thanksgiving Prayer Service, a presentation of the Stations of the Cross and celebrate Catholic Schools during a special week in January....

    A Roman Catholic priest at a Watertown parish, who served at St. Patrick's in Natick during the late 1990s, was placed on administrative leave this week while the Archdiocese of Boston investigates an allegation of child sexual assault dating back 20 years.

    A Roman Catholic priest serving at a Watertown parish has been placed on administrative leave while the Boston Archdiocese investigates allegation of child sexual assault. The archdiocese said in a statement that the alleged abuse took place two decades ago but came to light recently. The Rev. Frederick Barr most recently has served at St. Patrick Church in Watertown.
