The Carroll School in Lincoln is in the process of purchasing the former Bartlett School in Waltham.

The Carroll School for dyslexic students has decided to purchase the former Bartlett School, and will close the deal for $5.4 million on Nov. 14, said Faith Wilcox, Carroll's director of communication.

Melrose School officials often talk about keeping special education students “in district” by expanding special education programs and eliminating the need to spend money on out-of-district tuition and the transportation costs associated with transporting Melrose students to outside programs.

Patrick Callahan's first memory of a sporting event was at a Lincoln-Sudbury boys' basketball game. Now he will have a chance to be the head coach of the team that he so admired as a kid growing up in Lincoln.
