School Notes:

  • A FAMILY A SCHOOL Learning begins at home and our goal is to extend and develop that process by complementing and supporting the family. Teachers and parents communicate regularly, working together to enhance each child’s growth. Parents are encouraged to participate in the center according to their schedule and level of desire.
  • A MEANINGFUL CURRICULUM Learning centers and motivational activities help the child to grow in self-awareness, to feel comfortable with learning and to explore the unknown. Multiculturalism is an integral part of our curriculum, enhancing preschool activities and giving the child a sense of cultural heritage. Our curriculum themes are emerged from the interests of the children and teachers in each room and skills in every area of development are practiced and enhanced. This “emergent curriculum” model is based upon our awareness of each child’s interest areas, their developmental milestones, and our respect for the learning styles of every child.
  • A CHILD-CENTERED SCHOOL With the child’s particular interests and strengths as a focal point, experiences are provided using art media, dramatic props, science equipment, computers, and manipulative objects, within both individual and group efforts. The teacher guides the child’s growing skills by challenging and expanding them with a variety of materials. Under the teacher’s guidance the child’s physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and aesthetic capacities are enriched and heightened.
  • A PROFESSIONAL STAFF Teachers are selected for their educational background, early childhood training, teaching experience, and for their sensitivity to the unique needs of the young child and his/her family. All our teachers are college educated, many with advanced degrees in Early Childhood education and all participate in on-going Early Childhood training. We are proud of the longevity of our staff members many of who have been in the field for more than fifteen years.
