Immaculate Heart of Mary School is a Catholic school in the Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was founded in 1952 by Father Charles Killgoar, to serve families at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish as well as families in the surrounding community. Catholic education is currently provided to 430 students in grades preschool through eighth grade. Special offerings include art, music, computers, Spanish, gym, and band. In addition to a teaching staff of 26, IHM benefits from the services of four teacher aides, a librarian, a Special Education teacher, numerous tutors, and other parent and grandparent volunteers. Immaculate Heart of Mary School seeks to provide a solid foundation and nurturing environment within a Catholic, Christian framework. A dedicated staff is committed to providing an enriched and well-rounded curriculum, which encourages and prepares the development of self-esteem, leadership, and self-discipline, and prepares children to be caring contributing members of the Catholic community and the community-at-large. Immaculate Heart of Mary School is an integral dimension of IHM Parish. As a Catholic community, centered on Jesus Christ, all members have the opportunity to experience the joy of His gospel message in the daily learning, living, and sharing of faith throughout all aspects of school life....
