Gerald "Jerry" H. Wolgast -- the founder of a one-man construction company that eventually became Wolgast Corp. -- at one time estimated that if he put all the 8-inch bricks that he laid end-to-end, it would stretch from Hemlock to Chicago and back to Bay City.
