Zion congregation has provided instruction to its children since 1903. The purpose for existing as a Christan Day School is to provide a thorough and complete instruction in God's Word. This is necessary so the child may trust in the risen Savior and voluntarily lead a God-pleasing life; to assist the home in carrying out its role commanded by God; and to teach the necessary skills for successful, purposeful, and useful living in the century. Gerald "Jerry" H. Wolgast -- the founder of a one-man construction company that eventually became Wolgast Corp. -- at one time estimated that if he put all the 8-inch bricks that he laid end-to-end, it would stretch from Hemlock to Chicago and back to Bay City.
