- Started by Quakers and peace activists in 1988, Friends School of Minnesota has a student body of 153 and a faculty of 15. The school offers a solid academic program into which peaceful forms of conflict resolution are woven every day.
In the tradition of the 80 Quaker Friends Schools across the United States, Friends School of Minnesota was founded to meet children's intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs in an environment that nurtures their social consciousness.
With 20 percent of students coming from Quaker backgrounds, a broad range of religious beliefs is assured. And 40 percent of families receive need-based tuition aid, nearly twice the national average for independent schools.
The School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). The ISACS team described us as "a little jewel of a school."
