2004 -- Five years ago The Rochester Area Foundation will celebrate the 60th anniversary of its founding in 1944. The foundation was the vision of the late Harry J. 1979 -- 30 years ago Northwest Airlines announced it will begin a daily service between Rochester and Phoenix. The airline will inaugurate the service with a one-way fare of $108.
