FAIRMONT - Last year, Martin County Kids Against Hunger raised $18,000, enough money to pack more than 94,000 meals for starving children. Kids Against Hunger is a Minnesota-based organization that packages and ships nutritious meals to malnourished children in the United States and around the world.

TRUMAN - Ask any 3-year-old and he or she most likely will be able to define "abre" and "vamanos" and to count to 10 in Spanish. "Dora the Explorer" has made those household words for the pre-school set, but as they grow, most local students don't delve into the world of foreign languages until high school.
