School Notes:
- Trinity Christian School Offers Three Different Kindergarten Programs for 2009-2010 School Year As summer approaches and the school year begins to wrap up, it’s hard to think about school for your child for next year, but at Trinity Christian School, we are always looking to the future for Trinity Christian School students. We are excited to provide families with an opportunity to explore school choice options available in the North Branch Area. Trinity Christian School is just blocks from Main Street and is located in the Education Center attached to Trinity Lutheran Church on the corner of Lincoln Trail. Maybe you have thought as you drove by, I wonder what is in that building. As a community member and/or parent, it is critical to get to know your educational options available in North Branch. Trinity Christian School provides families with an opportunity to express choice and direction for the future of their child(ren). With class sizes of 15-19 students, Trinity Christian School provides hands-on learning opportunities, which encourages academic success through multiple methods of teaching available to our students. By providing small class sizes of 15-19 students, children are able to learn comfortably in an environment promoting an individualized Christian-based education as well as foster a family environment where everyone is welcome. For example, over the past two years, Trinity Christian School has demonstrated this individualized education and educational philosophy that every child is unique and need to educate them accordingly. When All-Day Everyday Kindergarten program was implemented, we continued to offer families the Half-Day Everyday Kindergarten option many parents desire. With Trinity’s philosophy on learning, education, and choice, parents will now be provided with a third option for Kindergarten, Transitional Kindergarten. Last year, the Kindergarten program at Trinity Christian School piloted a third option including Transitional Kindergarten. This option allows families to start their child in Half-Day Everyday Kindergarten and change to All-Day Everyday Kindergarten at any point during the school year. The child will remain with the same teacher, so the only change is the length of the school day. In listening to current needs of families, Trinity viewed parent choice as a vital component to a child’s education. Last year, Transitional Kindergarten had an overwhelming parent response, which was supported by successful student academic and social outcomes. One parent states, “Our choice to put our daughter in Trinity’s Transitional Kindergarten program has exceeded our expectations! The Transitional Kindergarten program allowed her the opportunity to ease into a full day routine after having established a comfort level with school and the half-day program. This has allowed her to have a positive educational experience, one she looks forward to each night before bed time. It makes a perfect fit for all children. The school is wonderful and the only one in the area that offers this program.” As a direct result of this success, for 2009-2010 school year, Trinity Christian School will have three choices available for Kindergarteners: Half-Day Everyday Kindergarten, All-Day Everyday Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten. Transitional Kindergarten will offer the flexibility for kindergarten students who are ready for the half-day program at the beginning of the school year and by second or third trimester are ready to transition to an All-Day Everyday Kindergarten. Realizing the need for successful experiences in school and creating a solid foundation with positive learning environment, Trinity is proud to be a program stepping outside of the “status quo”. For less than $10/day per student, each family can participate in creating this solid, Christian-based foundation. Creating, innovating, and inviting educational change is powerful and important to our future generation of presidents, world leaders, and elected officials. In addition to these educational choices, for 2009-2010 Trinity Christian School, our preschool program offers 1, 2, or 3 days per week, with each class 2 ½ hours in duration. A preschool foundation can be as affordable as $1 a day. Trinity Christian School also offers a sibling playgroup for ages birth thru 5 years, held one day per week. Trinity Christian School’s focus is to offer small class sizes between 15 -19 students, allowing more individualized programs for children. Elementary grades offered are first thru fifth grade. Preschool and Elementary enrollment is currently open, but classes are filling up quickly! If you would like additional information or to schedule a tour, contact the school office at 651-674-7042 or check out our website at www.tcsnb.org.
