Columbia Academy
School Notes Overview:
Columbia Academy has as its primary aim the development of men and women for responsible leadership and well-rounded lives of useful service to their fellow men, their country, and their God. It seeks to function as a community of learners where faculty and students together seek the truth that frees the minds of men. Columbia Academy concerns itself with the lives of the students on the campus as well as in the classroom. It is concerned that students conduct themselves at all times as ladies and gentlemen, that they make a voluntary commitment to the moral principles and spiritual values upon which our free and Christian society is founded, and that they develop an emotional balance based upon respect for self and for others. Furthermore, the students are expected to be men and women of integrity, to be honest and trustworthy in every area of their lives--in the classroom and on campus--and to respect the rights and property of others. Columbia Academy will provide a climate for high-quality learning with special emphasis on educating for knowledgeable, intelligent, responsive participation in the home, the community, and a career, and will stress the need for all students to continue their learning throughout their lives in order to be effective and worthy members of a rapidly changing society. The mission of Columbia Academy is to provide a safe, spiritual, family environment where teachers help students to grow physically, morally, socially, and intellectually in order that they may become productive citizens in today's society....
