School Notes:
Chaminade College Preparatory School is an independent Catholic school for young men in grades six through twelve. Students of superior and above average ability can expect to be successful at Chaminade. In addition to offering 23 Advanced Placement courses for college credit, an additional 48 semester courses are available for college credit through local universities. Over 150 students participate in our award-winning band program, and almost 80% participate in our athletic program with recent top five state finishes in soccer, cross country, swimming, basketball, hockey, bowling, golf, tennis and volleyball. 99.6% of our students have entered college upon graduation with 81% of our seniors receiving merit scholarships. Chaminade is located on a 55-acre campus in suburban St. Louis. Our new, state-of-the-art Viragh Center for the Arts is now open. Chaminade's campus is easily accessible to the St. Louis metro area, and is only ten minutes away from St. Louis International Airport. Over $1.5 million in need-based tuition assistance was offered to our students for the 2011-2012 school year. Chaminade offers an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) program for international students wanting to improve their English skills. Students may enter Chaminade at the beginning of a semester (mid-August and early January); families moving to the St. Louis area can enter at other times of the year.
