The primary goal of our school is to assist children in reaching their highest potential and to strike their imagination through activity and instruction. The Learning Circle offers a carefully designed environment that promotes the development of social, emotional and physical skills as well as cognitive understanding and growth. Each child is challenged based on his individual needs within multi-age classrooms. The LCME curriculum encourages children to work in groups as well as individually to promote self-confidence, self-discipline, respect, cooperation, and a true excitement for learning. The school's peaceful and non-competitive atmosphere promotes strong moral character and human values. Parents play a large part in our school community. We encourage families to become involved in their child's education as we believe it is essential to a child's overall success. Research shows that when family and school work together as a team the child's self-confidence and self-discipline grows. Parents become involved in such areas as reading, spelling, gardening projects, field trips, office support, and fundraising. The Parent Group Organization provides opportunities for families to get to know each other and support the school at the same time. The Learning Circle is an affiliate of the American Montessori Society www.amshq.org as a full member, therefore, the teachers are certified AMS Montessori teachers. As a member of AMS, our school primarily follows the doctrine of Maria Montessori and utilizes other materials and organizational patterns to support the individual needs of children.
