Mount Prospect Academy offers a staff secure intake and assessment residential treatment program and licensed special education academic facility for boys, ages 11-17. Mount Prospect Academy provides an active milieu that emphasizes public service, adventure and healthy living. Mount Prospect Academy specializes in difficult to treat and hard to place adolescents who have had difficulties finding success in alternative environments, including other residential treatment centers. Students attend core classes at MPA, and participate in Becket Family's Vocational Stewardship Program, including a culinary arts program, an agriculture and land use management program, a forestry and wildlife program, and a building trades program, all located on a 2000 acre campus bordering the White Mountain National Forest. Highlights of the program include a dynamic counseling program that combines traditional individual and group therapy with adventure, activities based counseling approaches and wilderness therapy. Program activities include an annual trip to the Florida Everglades, regular canoe trips on the Connecticut River, hiking in the White and Green Mountains and rock climbing, including climbing at the world famous Rumney Cliffs....
