In support of the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Park West Diner in Little Falls will host "Take a Swing for the Cure," July 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the diner, 1400 Route 46. Participants will be invited to hit a pink car with a pink baseball bat to symbolize "beating" cancer.

Whether it’s burbling, splashing or trickling, there’s something mesmerizing about water in the garden. People find the sound of falling water relaxing — therapeutic, even. Garden stores and the Internet are well-stocked with preassembled fountains to which you just add water. Another option is to design your own.

The Edward W. & Stella Van Houten Van Houten Memorial Fund awarded a $20,000 grant to the ARC of Essex County’s Stepping Stones Early Intervention Tuition Reduction Fund in Livingston.

The ARC of Essex County’s Stepping Stones School is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday and Friday, March 26 and 27. The school is located within the Trinity Covenant Church at 343 E. Cedar St. in Livingston.
