    The veterans gathered in the Verona Civic Center just before 11 a.m. Three World War II vets found their seats on folding chairs on the steps of town hall. A few town employees who served in Vietnam greeted people and made sure everything was ready for the ceremony.

    Our Lady of the Lake School will hold a clothing drive on from 1 to 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23; 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25. Proceeds will support the school’s programs.

    A fundraiser to benefit a scholarship given in memory of Meghan and Kelly Reilly will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 26 at Our Lady of the Lake School Auditorium, Lakeside and Montrose Avenues, Verona. The girls were students of the school who lost their lives in a tragic incident on June 21, 2007. This scholarship fund is a way of keeping the their memories alive.
