Ruth Moyer Elementary School in Fort Thomas and St. Agnes School in Fort Wright have been named 2009 National Blue Ribbon Schools. They are two of only 314 honored nationwide for their academic achievements.

Mrs. Bantin, 75, of Manalapan died Aug. 23, 2009, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Marlboro, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Garden Club. Mrs. Bantin was president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Father McGivney Council No. 6392, Knights of Columbus. Surviving are her husband, Charles A.
