SAYREVILLE — Halloween at the home of Nick and Judy Kides is always about more than trick-or-treating. For the past nine years, the Kides family have been holding their charity Halloween party with their two children, Nicholas, 15, and Nicole, 13. Each year, Nicholas and Nicole decide what charity or charities their party will benefit.

Oct. 22-25 • Show and School-Supplies Drive, to benefit needy children in Afghanistan, sponsored by Stephen O'Leary, a seventh-grade student at Immaculate Conception School, Spotswood. Project inspired by a request posted on www.anysoldier.com by a U.S. soldier in Afghanistan.
Children's Halloween Tricky Tray scheduled (Suburban)

St. Stan's Athletic Association will host its annual Children's Halloween Tricky Tray noon-4 p.m. Oct. 24 at St. Stanislaus Kostka School, 221 MacArthur Ave., Sayreville. A costume parade will take place at 1:30 p.m.; prizes will be awarded. Costumes are optional. Drawings will begin at 2 p.m. The kitchen will be open.
