School Notes Overview:
Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart serves girls grades K through 12 and offers a co-educational preschool program. Stuart Country Day School is an independent college-preparatory school for girls governed by a lay and religious Board of Trustees. Stuart is a member of the National and International Network of Sacred Heart Schools. Stuart is dedicated to providing young women with a rigorous academic program and a supportive atmosphere in which to best develop their moral and intellectual lives. The philosophy at Stuart includes the conviction that a truly educated woman responds to the needs of others through specific action motivated by her faith. The Community Service Program is designed to help students learn about the different needs of the community and to respond to these needs with their gifts. The goal of the program, in support of the Sacred Heart tradition, is to educate to a social awareness that impels to action and social change. All Students in the Upper School have an ongoing community service requirement of 50 hours per year. During a student's four years, she spends a minimum of two years working on a project outside of school and at least one year involved with the economically and/or socially disadvantaged....
