School Notes Overview: |
Caedmon is a unique education. Our program combines high academic standards, an emphasis on the arts, and a strong focus on social development. We are deliberately small in size. The average class size is 16-18 children with two teachers. We are a a Modified Montessori school. Our program develops a love for the process of learning by sustaining the natural motivation with which all children are born. Caedmon is ethnically, racially, culturally, economically, and intellectually diverse. Diversity is a cornerstone of our philosophy. Caedmon is a community of enthusiastically involved families, offering a warm, congenial atmosphere and a very active Parents Auxiliary. Caedmon provides a wide variety of learning opportunities to challenge our children in developmentally appropriate ways. In a supportive and nurturing environment, our children experience success, assume responsibility, and feel comfortable taking risks. We build self-esteem by teaching independence and by facilitating individual learning styles.
