I have been a Grace parent for 3 years and I have had a wonderful experience at the school. I am most impressed by the faculty and staff - it is apparent how dedicated they are to their students and helping them learn, but it is also clear that they love what they do. They are consistently warm, supportive, and responsive. Another strength of the school is its close-knit community feel. The parents and families of the students are eager to be involved, and the school provides a multitude of opportunities for them to volunteer, gather, and participate in their child's school experience.

I highly recommend Grace Church School as a rigorous academic experience. For more than 10+ years, Grace's teachers have encouraged my kids to explore, be curious, and take risks. They have developed excellent essay writing skills, the French and Latin departments are incredible and their knowledge of math and science has deepened. We were originally drawn to Grace because of the close community and the incredible curriculum. Also, athletics at the High School and Middle School has been an incredible experience too.

From the first day we took the tour, we knew Grace was our top choice. The academics and the community of the school aligned with our family's values. While our family is not religious, we appreciated how the episcopal identity of the school provided a template for strong character-building for my kids to be good citizens. Isn't that what all parents want for their kids? We want our children to be happy, kind, and smart. Our kids have been at Grace for almost 10 years and we are proud of them. The saying it takes a village to raise a child- the teachers and the school community really did help raise my kids and we are grateful for the positive influence and encouragement they provided. The early childhood and lower school divisions are especially strong, with excellent teachers (parents argue that their kid's teacher is the best), and Grace is one of the few K-12 schools that start fielding teams in the 5th grade, which is rare (most schools with an HS cannot start sports until the 7th grade). The middle school just got two new floors, which provide new classrooms for English and History, and Performing Arts (drama, chorus, orchestra, and strings). Plus a brand new Design/Innovation Lab that incorporates design and tech into the science curriculum. Exciting developments!

We have two kids in Grace and absolutely love the school. Both of them started in Junior Kindergarten, and we have thoroughly appreciated every aspect of the school since we were admitted. Teachers and staff are approachable, accessible, and quick to reply to emails. The kids' workloads are very manageable, and the class projects and assignments are often interdisciplinary and engage both critical thinking and creativity in our kids. We love the mid- and end-of-year performances that take place throughout the Early Childhood program and Lower School. The school did an excellent job during COVID-19 pivoting to remote learning and not letting kids fall behind - quickly utilizing technology then and continuing to engage technology as a tool throughout the curriculum. As parents, we feel like we can be very involved in their academic journey, not to mention the opportunities to become involved with the school and the Parent's Association. We love it here.

I am the parent of a second grader at GCS. We chose Grace over other private schools for a few reasons: 1) The education the children receive, while keeping up the the times, is rigorous and traditional. The children have educational benchmarks, they get grades, do homework, and develop lifelong study and organizational skills. The lessons are engaging and foster a love of learning. 2) Over 1/4 of the school receives some kind of financial aid, which fosters economic diversity. It is important to us that our child not only be surrounded by people who can afford private school tuition. 3) The values of GCS reinforce the work we do at home to raise a child with a deep sense of empathy, who cares about others both inside and outside of their communities. 4) GCS is a warm environment where the teachers and administration genuinely care about the students. Our child was accepted into other great schools, but the loving environment at Grace is what ultimately tipped the scales for us.
