Swine flu fears continued to tighten their grip around the city as of press time Wednesday afternoon, May 20, as increasingly worried parents and local lawmakers pressed for more school closings. As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, 28 public and private schools throughout the city have been closed due to swine flu fears.

May 19 (Bloomberg) -- Boston Latin School , the oldest school in the U.S., and Horace Mann School , a private academy in New York, are among more than two dozen schools in the U.S. that were shut today or will close tomorrow because of outbreaks of disease.
