School Notes Overview: |
At the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School, students are “Learning for a Lifetime”! Our program imbues young people with a love of learning, a love of self, a love of community, and a love of Judaism. “Learning for a Lifetime” is a concept which reflects the multi-faceted, multi-layered education our students are engaged in every day, and which our graduates carry with them for a lifetime.
High academic standards and a rigorous dual curriculum are the foundation of our program. NEMJDS students learn well beyond the basics of core subjects, preparing them to think and analyze, to apply their knowledge in life, and to celebrate creativity. The dual curriculum is built around the integration of General Studies courses which match the State of Alabama curricular goals, and the Judaic Studies program which is steeped in Hebrew language immersion, Torah study, and study of Jewish traditions. A low teacher to student ratio and small class size maximize the opportunity for individualized instruction and create an atmosphere which fosters student success.
