School Notes:

    • Loyola School is an academically rigorous, coeducational Jesuit preparatory school located on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Loyola offers a values-based education embracing the Ignatian philosophy of cura personalis (care for the whole person), service to others and a life of purpose. The school values what it calls "grad at grad" virtues – academically excellent, open to growth, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice. Founded in 1900, Loyola School maintains a diverse student body in a small, friendly environment of approximately 200 young men and women in grades 9-12. Loyola School's teacher-to-student ratio is one of the lowest for independent schools in the metropolitan area.
    • Loyola School graduates find success in the best colleges and universities in the U.S.  75% of the members of the class of 2011 are attending schools in the "top 50" colleges and universities.
    • Reflecting the spirit of "cura personalis," the Loyola School community is actively involved in learning outside the classroom, enhancing the communities in which they live, and building the foundation for a lifetime of leadership and service to others.
    • The energy and talents of Loyola School's faculty, staff and administration are among the school's strongest assets. Loyola School's teacher-to-student ratio is arguably the lowest for independent schools in the metropolitan area.
    • Loyola School alumni are generous and supportive and remain close to classmates, faculty, and other members of the Loyola community.
    • Central to the Loyola School experience is service to the poor and disadvantaged. Students, teachers, parents, and alumni regularly engage in service and understand themselves in light of the Jesuit ideal of being "women and men for others."

Make Summer a Special Time! Make Summer a Special Time!
If you have children in private school, then you are most likely looking at three months, perhaps even longer, which you must fill with activities of one kind or another during the long summer break.

Are You Liable? Are You Liable?
Is your DEL key about to get gaveled? It doesn't matter whether you teach in a public or private school setting. You expose yourself to legal risks every single day on the job.
