First-grade and second-grade students at the Nardin Academy Elementary School on Friday presented $1,450 to the families of Buffalo Firefighter Jonathan S. Croom and Lt. Charles W. “Chip” McCarthy, who were killed while fighting a Genesee Street fire Aug. 24. The students raised the funds during a “jeans day” event.
