Cape Fear Academy is southeastern North Carolina's only college preparatory day school for grades PK-12. With an emphasis on critical thinking skills, teachers use both traditional and innovative methodologies to instill a solid base of knowledge in Cape Fear Academy students while developing their ability to apply this to new information. Video Body Azalea Festival organizers announced the winner of a student art contest Thursday. Her work will be featured on souvenirs at the upcoming festival. Fourth grader, Katie Girolami is from Cape Fear Academy. She used different colored Sharpies to draw a picture of the festival princess sitting daintily on an azalea. Fayetteville Christian Academy's volleyball team entered the O'Neal School gym Tuesday with an undefeated record. It left with its first loss, after the Lady Falcons took a 3-2 win by set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-14, 23-25 and 15-10. Kate Fedder and Alex DiMaggio led the effort, with Fedder posting a team-high 15 kills and DiMaggio posting a team-high 17 digs. KellyAnn Miller added eight digs.
