Athletics is considered an important part of The O'Neal School curriculum.  At the Upper School level, close to 90% of O'Neal students compete on a varsity or junior varsity team at least one season during the year. Pictured above is a varsity boys' soccer game.

A comprehensive reading and language arts program coupled with hands-on learning activities in math, science and social studies provide a strong basic curriculum. Pictured above a pre-kindergarten class.
Upper School students and teacher engaged in a Harkness discussion. The Harkness method of teaching encourages students to share their own ideas and improves communication and reasoning skills.
O'Neal's clubs and activities allow for leadership opportunities, character building, academic rigor, community service and physical well-being. The School attempts to offer activities and associations that meet the interests of the students while providing value in their overall growth. A few examples of the many choices are National Honor Society, Key Club, SGA, and Mathcounts. Pictured a Science Olympiad competition.
An annual event, students participate in the Lower School math field day.
O'Neal's 40 acre campus includes two spacious art studios that share a clay room to turn pottery as well as a kiln. The School's new activities center houses a 250-seat theater for stage productions.
The athletics program consists of fall, winter and spring sports. Sports include: Soccer, Track, Cross Country,Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Golf, Swimming and Cheerleading.
O'Neal is a college preparatory school dedicated to the development of academic excellence, strength of character,and physical well-being of its students in an environment where integrity, self-discipline, and consideration of others are fundamental.

The O'Neal School enrolls approximately 447 students in grades PK-3 through 12. The school is located in the Sandhills of North Carolina. O'Neal draws faculty and students from five counties due to  the school's strong academic offerings, extracurricular activities, supportive school community and impressive 40 acre school campus. Students take part in many athletic, extracurricular and community service activities. There is also a specialized academic learning development program.
